Bookshack is a project developed during a design cohort at Designers Academy, exploring the concept of a dedicated marketplace for buying and selling second-hand books.
The project covered the complete UX design process, from research and user flows to wireframes and final app screens. The goal was to create a focused marketplace that brings together a community of book lovers while making it easy to discover, buy, sell, and exchange pre-loved books.

THE PROBLEM
India's secondhand book trade never made it online, so far fewer people got to read
India has a rich reading culture, and secondhand books already move through paper-scrap dealers ("raddiwalas") and old lending libraries. But no digital marketplace existed to buy and sell used books directly i.e the kind of dedicated, Amazon like platforms that could make secondhand books easier to find and encourage more people to read and sell books that are in good condition.
